This course is designed especially for those students who want to start preparing for GD/PI right after the written test. The focus of this course is to convert the calls into one or more admissions. Prominently, aspirants, not preparing for GD/PI and waiting for the call letters to come along might just be a little too late. Course Duration:
This is an 8 weeks comprehensive course including more than 40 hours of expert lectures, workshops and communication tutorials and comprises of theoretical inputs and practice sessions orienting a candidate towards the requirements of the final testing phase. Our GD/PI training commences every year in December and extends across weekdays and weekends.
Course Components:
The preparation for the GD-PI at Endeavor begins with a “Refresher Course on Concepts” which are informative sessions on various Economics, Business, Political, Social, Rural and Technology topics and aims at getting the aspirant appropriately acquainted to relevant content. Further, students will be assigned topics that have made headlines recently and asked to make “Presentations”. Additionally, students are also oriented to Case Studies, Role Plays, Contemporary concerns and Artistic subjects.
After having acquired a fair knowledge support, the candidate gains an entrée to our authentic meticulous GD/PI preparation.
The GD Work Out:
Firstly, students are introduced to the various type of GDs, their treatments, prerequisites and essentials. This is to ensure that they can fairly deal with different formats of GD’s taking place during the selection procedure. Improving communication skills, shedding students’ inhibitions through participation in mock GDs, performing their individual SWOT analyses and giving each of them in-depth guidelines to be followed represent the broad focus of this workout. Advancing on, live discussions are instituted to grant an experience of every kind of GD & students are provided with individual feedbacks and advices on improving their performances.
Practices like lateral thinking, planned dialogue and sensitivity training are incorporated to aid students develop communication proficiency, restructure their thinking process and build up leadership competency. Lateral thinking covers areas like thought modules and various approaches to a given topic. The rationale of Sensitivity Training is to figure out the perilous trenches of the student’s performance in a group discussion and to train him/her to dodge such state. In a GD, keeping a strict vigil on the time limit, students have to display their skills and therefore it is necessary that one be unique in what he/she says. The focus will be on illustrating how to ensure that what a student coveys, both verbally and non-verbally, showcases his thought process and communicates it very clearly. Utmost care is taken to make it certain to the student that apart from one's group behaviour skills, the other important aspects evaluated in a GD are contextual familiarity and conceptual clarity. To strengthen a candidate’s preparations, material covering basic do s and don’t s in a GD and PI are provided. Along with it, GD topics appeared in the past in IIMs and top B Schools are also provided.
Moreover, every Mock Group Discussion and Mock Interview conducted is recorded and a thorough audio-visual feedback is provided to every call-getter.
The Personal Interview Work Out:
Aspirants are made conscious about a range of criteria that they would possibly be tested over, the significance of an all-round performance and a rational thinking procedure.
The focal point of the interview procedure is the strategic purpose and intention of the individual. Students discover their demeanor, adapt their responses and offer key subjects a stern contemplation prior to the actual interview. The concrete prep starts with a thorough self-analysis wherein questions ranging from “How well do you know yourself?” to “Where are you headed?” and others have to be prepared and reasoned. This exercise aims at soul-searching, so that a candidate faces a panel of unknown 'experts' with the right attitude and fullest confidence. Additionally, assistance to students on spotting where they are positioned, in terms of their accomplishments (academic background, academic & co-curricular achievements, strengths, weaknesses, etc) and how they can add credence and substance to what they speak about, are taught. The art of conversing with assertion is preached, intending to equip the students with definite goals.
Moving ahead, students pass through a battery of interviews by panels comprising of alumni from top business schools and professionals from various industries. Personal feedback and advancement are scrutinized. These mock interviews let students discover areas where they may spoil a perfect interview. The same followed by audio-visual feedback sessions with a faculty, who directs and corrects the students’ errors, helps them steel themselves entirely to dish out optimum performance during actual group discussions and interviews.
Furthermore, guiding manuals along with list of questions asked in the past, in Personal Interviews at top Business Schools appended with one-to-one interaction and feedback with assigned mentor for every session, are made accessible.
